But if we were using a slider, it would most likely be the Pella Designer.Jessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05136551879987538627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1616544860220773209.post-74227887804251559002012-02-20T06:36:55.483-08:002012-02-20T06:36:55.483-08:00I forgot that you were using a Pella slider and lo...I forgot that you were using a Pella slider and lo and behold got talked into using their new slider when replacing one recently. Iam about to install it right now! I do like the design and theory but not too crazy with the way the weatherstrips meet at the corners.. They told me in the sales room that the slider actually beats the french door in infiltration tests. Iam skeptical.Springtime Homeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15701448524301288177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1616544860220773209.post-62015740219679075582011-09-16T14:09:38.663-07:002011-09-16T14:09:38.663-07:00thanks. Actually Pella's Designer door hits ....thanks. Actually Pella's Designer door hits .25 u value and their design puts the sliding panel on the exterior rather then the interior like most. What this does is then use the wind pressure to press the door against the seals. Higher the wind, tighter the door gets!<br />Cost is not the issue, they are within a couple hundred of each other. The big reason is function. We like not having a swinging door to deal with. Venting is nice as you can have it open just a little or more. Those are the reasons for wanting a sliding door.Jessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05136551879987538627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1616544860220773209.post-52949307307614353992011-09-16T10:18:13.233-07:002011-09-16T10:18:13.233-07:00Great stuff Jesse. Why not do double french doors..Costs?Springtime Homeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15701448524301288177noreply@blogger.com
